I was raised with a deep love for nature, and from a very young age I dreamed of working with the powers of nature to hold the space for deep, transformative healing. When I was called to work with First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® in 2011, I realised that this dream was still possible in this day and age - and more profoundly so than I had ever imagined.

In my late teens I lived in Toulouse, France and practised Aikido throughout my time there. This martial art is about reuniting one with the harmony of the universe. This opened the world of energy to me in a practical sense. I was introduced to the healing art of Seitai, including Yuki, through this practice. I continue my journey with Kokodo Jujutsu, which shares a foundation with Aikido.

First Light® Flower Essences have brought me full circle - an invitation to work with the ancient wisdom of this land of my birth, Aotearoa.

I am a registered practitioner of First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand®, completing studies with the New Zealand Native Flower Essences and Medicine Woman Training pathways over the past 10 years.

I began studying and working with First Light® essences in 2012, when I found this form of medicine to be the most deeply transformational healing modality I had ever experienced. Since then I have been working with the essences for myself and others, offering consultations via Skype and in person.

My clients tell me that they feel deeply heard and supported to make deep inner shifts after seeing me and taking the essences. My approach with clients is heart centred, respectful and non judgemental. I believe everyone has a deep knowing within themselves of what it is they need to heal - what is needed from the healer is simply the space and love to be heard and supported in our own knowing. I am Ria Dekker, 66 years old and living in the Netherlands. Since 2019 I followed the First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® courses and with every study I felt more complete, all the things I learned before about Edward Bach, chakra's, aura and spirituality came together in the First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® courses.
