The Importance of Water
Water is a vital element that enables life to exist on earth. It keeps humans and all other living things alive. Without it, we simply wouldn’t be here! The earth’s surface is made up of around 71% water with oceans holding the majority of the water. Interestingly, water constitutes around 60-70% of the adult human body as well which makes us very similar to the earth in terms of our water content. Water is certainly the most abundant substance in our bodies and nearly all the major systems in our bodies need water to function. Water constitutes a large percentage of our blood volume, transports nutrients and oxygen to our cells, regulates our body temperature, lubricates joints and moistens the tissues of the eyes, nose and mouth. It helps to prevent constipation and flushes water-soluble toxins out of our bodies via the kidneys. All in all, water is pretty amazing stuff.
Ensuring that we consume sufficient quantities of water on a daily basis is absolutely essential for our bodies to function in a healthy, balanced manner. There are generally accepted guidelines regarding the amount of water we need to consume on a daily basis. It is suggested between 1.8-2 litres total fluid intake for adults, however one size rarely fits all. Learning to listen to our own body wisdom when it comes to how much we really need to drink is our best bet here.
Experimentation is a good way to determine the right amount of water we need to consume on a daily basis. We will soon begin to develop a sense of what it feels like when we’re meeting our water intake needs. A feeling of being waterlogged is probably a good indication that we’ve had too much, as can excessive and frequent trips to the loo to release all that excess fluid.
Sweating increases water loss from the body which means we need to replenish what we are losing to maintain hydration. Hence, in summer or when exercising and physically exerting ourselves, we need to drink more water to replenish what has been lost.
One of the most amazing properties of water, aside from keeping us hydrated and alive, is its ability to carry energetic frequencies or vibrations.
Water is the perfect vehicle for holding and transporting the healing vibrational or energetic imprints of plants. The potentised water containing plant matter that has been infused in water with sunlight carries the energetic patterns or vibrations from plants into the cells in our bodies by way of resonance transfer.
This process of resonance transfer causes positive changes to occur in our cellular consciousness as the healing vibration or resonance of the plant is imparted into our cells, shifting the vibration or frequency of our cells from a lower to a higher state. Given that we are made up of such a high percentage of water, it seems only natural that the cells in our bodies would be highly receptive and responsive to the powerful healing properties of plants in the form of flower essences.
In the Age of Aquarius, which is symbolically represented by the Waterbearer, working with nature and plant intelligence through the medium of water is one of the optimal ways for us to create, sustain and maintain physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
First Light® flower essences fully embody the Aquarian spirit of working cooperatively with nature using vibration, and water. Working with the First Light® Flowers of Transformation essences that correspond to the zodiacal sign of Aquarius – No’s 31, 32 and 33 is a great way to help us tune in to our ‘inner waterbearer’ and effect positive changes in ourselves and the world around us through being of service to others.
Flowers of Transformation essences No’s 31-33 can support us to embrace and express increased levels of inner freedom as we honour our individuality and become active participants in bringing about positive changes in our world. These essences are also particularly useful for those who live on their nerves, feel uptight, strung out and anxious or have a tendency towards over zealousness or opinionated and self-righteous behaviour.
